Finest Worksongs is a music commentary and history podcast hosted by Matt Lail and Matt Stevens. Very few duos - sorry, they told us they don't like to be called that!-- have achieved as much commercial success as Daryl Hall and John Oates. (Don't even THINK of referring to them as "Hall & Oates, by the way.) With a run really beginning in the mid-1970s through the '80s, these two Philly natives ruled the airwaves with their "Blue-Eyed Soul"-infused brand of pop and rock. Their "best of" compilation, the optimistically titled "Rock 'n Soul Part 1," is an essential addition to anyone's music collection. All the hits are here - and man, did they have hits: "Sara Smile," "She's Gone," "Maneater," "Private Eyes," "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)," and on and on and on.
